Unitarian Universalists (UUs) believe in the inherent worth of each person, mutual interdependency, and the need to create a world in which each person has the opportunity to flourish. These values reflect our deeply rooted beliefs in social justice as a direct expression of our faith.
Our MUUF Faith In Action Committee meets regularly to coordinate our Fellowship’s work on a number of issues:
-
Advancing Peace by ending the present war in Iraq;
-
Ending our country’s shameful participation in torture of prisoners;
-
Advancing a fair recovery for New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina;
-
Decreasing consumerism through our Annual Alternative Gift Fair (held annually in early December);
-
Promoting environmental consciousness through our Green Sanctuary Committee aimed at decreasing our collective energy use at the Edgecomb Town Hall and educating each MUUF member in ways to conserve energy and preserve Mother Earth.
